Door-to-door car shipping service does not always mean a truck will be able to pull up to your front door. Door-to-door means that the truck driver will get as close to your specified pick-up or delivery spot as he can legally and safely get. Large towns and cities often restrict large trucks and prohibit them from entering into some residential areas. Auto shipping trucks can be up to 75 foot long, and drivers will need lots of room to maneuver and turn around. When access to your residence is restricted by narrow streets, low-hanging trees, speed bumps or tight turns, the driver may ask that you meet the truck at a large parking lot nearby, such as a grocery store, school, or shopping mall.
We typically consider factors such as the distance of the shipment, the weight of cargo, the chosen shipping method, and the current market rates to determine the shipping cost.
Yes, most cargo/freight will be transported via flat bed trailer , multi-car haulers, or an enclosed trailer depending on the specifications needed for the transport. Oversized cargo may need to be placed on a flat bed depending on the weight and dimensions. Enclosed trailers are recommended for vehicles such as luxury, exotic, and vintage automobiles.
The Bill of Lading is an important document that must be signed by the driver and by the shipper or their registered agent at the location and to whom and where it is delivering, plus all pertinent telephone numbers. The Bill of Lading serves as a receipt for your vehicle and it represents the contract of carriage between you, as the shipper, and the Carrier. The Driver will give a copy of the Bill of Lading at the time the vehicle is picked up; it must be signed by the driver and by the shipper or their agent at the location and to whom and where it is delivering, plus all pertinent telephone numbers.
In the unlikely event damage occurs during transporting, please be sure to note it on the bill of lading at the time of delivery and have the driver sign the agreement immediately while he is there. Then, reach out to Mac's Translogistics LLC immediately to inform us of your claim.
